How often do landlords need a gas safety certificate?

Every 12 months. A Gas Safe registered engineer must carry out an annual gas safety check on all gas appliances and flues in a rental property. The resulting certificate, known as a CP12, must be given to existing tenants within 28 days of the check, and to new tenants before they move in.
