Can I stop tenants messaging me?

Yes. In your messaging settings there's a simple "Allow tenants to message me" switch. When it's on, tenants can start conversations and reply to you. When it's off, they can't do either, so your evenings and weekends stay your own. There's a second setting to email you whenever a new message arrives, which you can leave on so nothing slips past, or turn off when you want quiet. You can change both whenever you like, as often as you like, so messaging fits around you rather than the other way around.

Can I message all my tenants at once?

Yes. August has a Broadcast option for exactly this. When you start a new conversation, choose Broadcast and your message goes to every tenant at once, which is ideal for a boiler service date, a change of payment details, or a building-wide notice. You can also choose Group to reach the tenants in a single shared house, or Direct for a one-to-one conversation. Tenants who aren't on the app still receive a broadcast by email or SMS, so nobody misses an important update. There's no limit to worry about on a normal portfolio.

What if my tenant isn't on the app?

You can still reach them. If a tenant hasn't downloaded the free tenant app, August delivers your message by email or SMS instead, and their reply lands straight back in the same conversation on your side.
