August HMRC MTD submission

UK landlords can claim allowable expenses that are wholly and exclusively for the purpose of renting out the property. Common categories include repairs and maintenance, insurance premiums, letting agent fees, accountancy fees, utility bills (if you pay them), ground rent and service charges, travel costs for property visits, and advertising for tenants. Mortgage interest is handled separately as a tax credit. August's categories are aligned to HMRC's allowable expense list, so you're always recording costs in the right place.
