August shortlisted for Best Property Management Solution (Residential) at Property Week's Tech Innovation Awards

LONDON – 29th July 2026 – August, the all-in-one rental app for small landlords, has been named a finalist for Best Property Management Solution (Residential) at Property Week's Tech Innovation Awards 2026, the second consecutive year the company has been shortlisted in the category.
The awards recognise the technologies reshaping the UK property industry across 21 categories, spanning residential and commercial real estate, affordable housing, smart buildings, sustainability and artificial intelligence. Winners will be announced at the Tech Innovation Forum and Awards on 16 October 2026 at the Kia Oval in London.
What are Property Week's Tech Innovation Awards?
Property Week is one of the UK property industry's longest-established titles, and its Tech Innovation Awards were launched in 2025 to recognise the companies applying technology to the sector's practical problems. The 2026 programme expands the event into a daytime forum examining trends and breakthroughs across PropTech, followed by the awards ceremony itself.
The Best Property Management Solution (Residential) category recognises platforms that measurably improve how residential property is managed. Judges assess entries on innovation and on quantifiable outcomes for users, with supporting evidence drawn from platform metrics, case studies and customer testimony rather than product claims alone.
Why was August shortlisted?
August brings the full working life of a tenancy into one platform. Rent tracking runs through FCA-regulated open banking, so payments are reconciled automatically against the tenancy rather than being logged by hand. Compliance monitoring tracks gas safety, electrical installation condition reports, energy performance certificates and deposit protection deadlines, prompting the landlord before a certificate lapses rather than after.
Around that sit document management, maintenance reporting, expense tracking, tenant messaging and portfolio reporting, with August Intelligence providing an AI assistant that answers questions in the context of the landlord's own properties. The platform is recognised by HMRC for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, which means the records a landlord keeps through the year feed directly into their quarterly submissions.
The distinguishing point is who the product is for. August is built for the self-managing landlord with a handful of tenancies, not for a letting agency operating at scale, and every design decision follows from that.
What does it mean?
A second shortlisting in the same category is a different signal from a first. The first indicated that the idea had promise. The second comes after a year in which the platform has grown its user base, added HMRC recognition for Making Tax Digital, and adapted to the most significant reform of the private rented sector in a generation through the Renters' Rights Act.
"Being shortlisted in this category two years running matters more to us than a single mention would," said Richard Samuel, CEO of August. "The first time tells you an idea has promise. The second tells you the product has held up under real use, with more landlords, more tenancies and a considerably harder regulatory backdrop than we faced a year ago. Our aim has never been to build the most feature-heavy platform in the residential market. It has been to build the one a self-managing landlord can genuinely run their portfolio from."
The winners will be announced at the Kia Oval on 16 October 2026.
