August partners with EMPO to give East Midlands landlords a discount on compliance software

Nottingham, 19 May 2026 — August, the property management platform for self-managing residential landlords, has partnered with East Midlands Property Owners (EMPO), giving the association's members a discount on August's paid plans.
EMPO has represented landlords and property professionals across the East Midlands since 1942 and is the largest landlord association in the region, covering Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Northampton and the surrounding areas. It offers members training, advice, insurance and a network of more than fifty partner organisations.
The partnership addresses a problem EMPO has seen among its own membership. The association's research has found that over half of landlords struggle to keep up with the regulation affecting the sector, unsurprising given there are more than 100 Acts of Parliament and 400 regulations governing private sector housing in the UK, before the Renters' Rights Act 2025 and Making Tax Digital for Income Tax were added to the list.
August gives self-managing landlords a single place to handle that workload, including rent tracking through FCA-regulated open banking, compliance and document management, tenancy records, and HMRC-recognised Making Tax Digital submissions, across web, iOS and Android.
"EMPO's own research found that more than half of landlords can't keep up with the regulation, and that was before the Renters' Rights Act and Making Tax Digital landed in the same year," said Richard Samuel, CEO of August. "Most self-managing landlords are not going to read and be across 400 regulations. What they need is software that supports them with compliance and keep on top of safety and certification deadlines. That is the gap this partnership is aimed at."
EMPO members can claim their discount and see August's full listing on the association's supplier directory at empo.co.uk/suppliers/august.
