Is August cheaper than Hammock for UK landlords?

For most self-managing landlords, August is cheaper. August's plans run from free (Starter, up to two tenancies) through £8.99/month (Growth), £14.99/month (Portfolio), and £29.99/month (Portfolio+), with no per-property fees at any tier.

Hammock charges by property band. £8/month plus VAT for one to three properties, rising to £15, £25, and £31.50 per month plus VAT for larger portfolios. Because Hammock quotes prices exclusive of VAT and August's prices are VAT-inclusive, the like-for-like gap is wider than it first appears. For landlords with smaller portfolios, the difference is modest. At ten or more properties the saving with August becomes significant.
