Augur Technologies Limited, trading as August (“August”, “we”, “us”), is responsible for the personal information collected through the August Landlord Survey 2026.
This notice supplements our general Privacy Policy.
What we collect
The survey collects information about your experience and views as a landlord, including information about your rental portfolio, property management, financial and tax circumstances, future plans and optional demographic information.
You may also choose to provide:
a free-text response about your experience as a landlord; and
your email address.
We do not ask for your name, property addresses or August account details as part of this survey.
The survey is hosted using Typeform, which processes survey information on our behalf.
Why we use the information
We use survey responses to:
understand the experiences and views of UK landlords
analyse trends within the private rental market
produce the August Landlord Report 2026
produce aggregated research, statistics and insights
communicate and publicise the findings of the research, and
improve our understanding of landlords and the market in which August operates.
We may publish aggregated findings in reports, articles, media coverage, social media, presentations, advertising and other communications.
We will not identify you personally in those published findings.
Where you expressly agree that we may quote a free-text response, we may publish that response together with broad, non-identifying information such as your portfolio size or region.
Your email address
If you choose to provide your email address, we will use it to:
send you the August Landlord Report 2026, and
administer the survey prize draw, including contacting you if you win.
Providing your email address for these purposes does not add you to August’s general marketing mailing list.
Because your email address is collected within the same Typeform response, August can technically associate it with your survey answers. We will not use it to identify you in the published report or target marketing to you based on your individual survey responses.
Our lawful basis
We rely on our legitimate interests in conducting market research, understanding the UK landlord market and producing and communicating research and statistics when analysing survey responses.
Where you expressly agree to the publication of a free-text quotation, we rely on the permission you have given us for that use.
We process the contact information required to administer the prize draw and send you the report for those specific purposes.
How long we keep the information
We aim to minimise the amount of identifiable information we retain.
Email addresses associated with this survey will be removed from the research dataset within three months after the August Landlord Report 2026 has been distributed and the prize draw has been completed.
The remaining de-identified survey dataset may be retained for up to 24 months after publication of the report for analysis, validation and comparison purposes.
Aggregated statistics and genuinely anonymised information that no longer identifies an individual may be retained indefinitely.
Who we share information with
We may use service providers, including Typeform, to host or process the survey on our behalf.
We may share aggregated or anonymised research findings publicly, including with journalists, partners, investors and other third parties.
We will not sell individual survey responses or provide your email address to advertisers.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights in relation to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction or deletion of your personal information and to object to certain processing.
Once information has been genuinely anonymised so that we can no longer identify your response, we may no longer be able to locate or delete your individual survey response.
To ask a question or exercise your data protection rights, contact us at [email protected].
You can find more information in the August Privacy Policy and the August Landlord Survey Terms and Conditions.
